Coast to coast day 6 shap to kirkby Stephen #ourc2c

I

‘ll keep this one short! It’s been a long day and I’m Shattered!

Today started with a lovely breakfast at the greyhound in shap. It was every bit as good as the evening meal we had the night before! We’d ha a great time at the greyhound, even ended up in the same room as we were on new years eve, it was has to leave especially knowing we had forgotten to order sarnies so had a bit of a walk to the shop and couldn’t take the short cut that was at the back of the hotel.

The walkover to Kirkby stephen was a long trudge along farm land, even though the weather was lovely and the odd stunning view we both found the day hard work.

The view of the day has to be the one over to the viaduct and limestone kiln, I’ll be back to check that out along with the brewery a a later date.

Our room for the night was in one of the pubs in the town, it’s nice enough, to be honest we were just happy to have room, two of the couples we had met and got to know along the route had been double booked so were trying to sort out alternative accommodation.

We ended up doing a quick pub crawl
But were largely disappointed most places we were the only people in and the beer wasn’t great. The busiest by far (other than where we were staying) was the kings arms, they had some beers on from Dent so we decided to eat in there, it wad great!

Tomorrow is a shorter day of only 12 miles and a little bit of a hill, hopefully my blister will magically disappear over night….
