Quick lakeland wild camp.
With it being bankholiday weekend we thought we’d make the most of it, pack all our gear into my rucksack and head for a wild camp in the Lake District, We parked up in Seathwaite, walked up the path to Stockley Bridge, turned right and climbed up over Greenhow Knott, followed the path up Styhead Gill to Styhead Tarn before heading up to the stretcher box and then carrying on to Sprinkling Tarn, the weather was gorgeous, the sun was shining and the skies were pretty clear meaning we had some great views on the way up. This is another one of those walks we tend to do when we are looking for a quick few miles to stretch our legs followed by a pub meal somewhere, in this case usually the Fox and Hounds at Ainthorpe. It’s a nice easy walk over fields and a little bit of road, there’s a couple of small up ascents but nothing too steep or difficult. There’s a couple of pubs along the route, a couple of cafe’s, a castle, 14th century bridge and even a place called Fryup (of moonpig fame) We usually start the walk from the car park near the Duke of Wellington and Stonehouse Bakery in Danby it’s self but if you don’t fancy walking along the road you can always park at the Danby Moors Centre, but this usually costs a few quid…although it goes to...

Sorry if this is a huge post but I decided the only way I’d get it done was to do it all in one post. What seems like an age ago now, we were invited to a Beer and Food evening at the Black Sheep Brewery in Masham, (click here to read about it) I thought it would give us the perfect base for a few days walking and drinking in the North Yorkshire Dales. I’ll upload the routes for the walks soon in case anyone wants to use them. Our first night was spent at the Kings Head in Masham which was close to the brewery, the accommodation was excellent and we were perfectly placed for a short walk round Masham the next day.
