#our2c day 7 kirkby Stephen to keld
Up until today we had managed to stay dry, we knew it wouldn’t last but were glad we got through the lakes section with out the need for our waterproofs. The rain was the main reason for the lack of updates today, that and having to concentrate on navigation across the moorland bogs in thick mist. We teamed up with a couple of lads from down south (who were great company) and headed up for 9 standards along the blue route, a few people took the lower green route but we wanted to see the 9 standards up close. The rain was pretty much none stop But the path up to the standards was fine, the path after wasn’t so good, deep Peat bog and marsh followed the Route down to the road, luckily Once we had found the marker posts it was easy enough to pick out the...

I’ll keep this one short! It’s been a long day and I’m Shattered! Today started with a lovely breakfast at the greyhound in shap. It was every bit as good as the evening meal we had the night before! We’d ha a great time at the greyhound, even ended up in the same room as we were on new years eve, it was has to leave especially knowing we had forgotten to order sarnies so had a bit of a walk to the shop and couldn’t take the short cut that was at the back of the hotel. The walkover to Kirkby stephen was a long trudge along farm land, even though the weather was lovely and the odd stunning view we both found the day hard work. The view of the day has to be the one over to the viaduct and limestone kiln, I’ll be back to check...
