#ourc2c day 4…Grasmere to Patterdale
T
The day started with a rather delicious breakfast at our hotel followed by a trip to heidis cafe for a pasty and sandwich to eat en route.
As with yesterdays walk we were straight into the ascent out of grasmere via Tongue gill, we opted for Tongue gill as we heard there were some fab waterfalls along the way and in the hope we could push on to the summit before the predicted rain arrived!
Fortunately for us it threatened to rain but didn't actual follow through. The cloud and mist came in just before the summit but soon cleared leaving us with stunning views of the valley below.
We bumped into a few familiar faces
Along the way, all
Were in high spirits and enjoying the descent past ruthwaite hut, the view behind of the rather imposing alternative route of Helvellyn and striding edge!
We were soon at the bottom looking back at the route before heading off to find our bed for the night.
Luckily it was just off the path and s few mins walk from the pubs! And as a bonus it even has wifi...something everywhere else has been missing!
After a quick shower and change we headed to the patterdale hotel for a quick beer before heading to the White lion for tea and more beer!
I now find my self loosing to Emily on monopoly for the iPhone! It may soon be time to call it a night
