Day 3 of #Ourc2c rosthwaite to grasmere
F
The day started really well with a fabulous breakfast at the scafell hotel. I highly recommend it to everyone doing the coast to coast or who just fancies a night away.
The objective for the day was to get to grasmere as early as possible so we could grab some food before checking in at the next hotel. We started the long climb out of the village up onto grasmere common but as we rose the wind picked up, as a result we decided not to take the lovely ridge walk along to helm crag but to drop into the valley. On the plus side we were already high enough to enjoy some stunning views.
On arrival at grasmere we ended up in a lovely little cafe where I had the biggest ham salad I've ever seen and a bottle of refreshing conniston blue bird! Em had a delicious home made soup and we were happy and content sat in the sun watching the world go by.
Unfortunately our bag hadn't turned up het when we arrived at our hotel so we've been sat enjoying the view from our hotel window, being on the top floor does have some advantages. The bag has literally just turned up so it's time for a shower and then off for a pint or two and some tea.
See you all tomorrow
